South Georgia on our chart. The eight hundred plus miles from the Falkland Islands will take us three days or so depending on the weather. This time the severe weather has us hove-to and dodging the worst. This run will take us four days.

On leaving the Falklands we hit a force eight gale which stayed with us for the full distance. The pictures here do not show the real severity of the weather conditions.

Eating, standing and sleeping are very difficult when the ship is rolling and pitching all over the place. It is easier in the engine room I suppose, as we are lower down and there is not so much movement. Up on the bridge, watch keeping is not for the faint hearted.

The cargo does not shift even in these extreme conditions, and the freezer container in the forward centre of the deck is still working perfectly on arrival at King Edward Point.
